Mary Magdalene was a follower of Jesus & his disciples. She bore witness to the crucifixion of Jesus, his burial & subsequent rebirth in resurrection … Mary Magdalene was the first person Jesus spoke with after his emancipation & revival to rise again.

It is most likely that her name came from the place she either lived at or was born, “Magdala”, near the Sea of Galilea.

For many years, her reputation was considered the antithesis of the saintly & loving devotion of Mother Mary. Mary Magdalene was regarded as a prostitute & temptress until Jesus expelled Mary Magdalene of her sins, the seven demons that symbolised the powers of human wrath …

“The first form is darkness, the second desire, the third ignorance, the fourth is the excitement of death, the fifth is the kingdom of the flesh, the sixth is the foolish wisdom of flesh, the seventh is the wrathful wisdom. These are the seven powers of wrath.”  – Gospel of Mary

Jesus then began to teach Mary Magdalene the healing arts. Soon after she was recognised for representing the transcendent qualities of forgiveness, repentance, devotion, mercy & grace. Mary Magdalene became a symbol of hope, a sinner redeemed, transformed by the light & love of Jesus the Saviour of souls!

Mary became adept with potions & lotions anointing the feet of the apostles. She became a powerful practitioner known for healing cases of blindness, lameness & leprosy.

Her energy is associated with the colour scarlet, that of blood, earthly life-force, divine will & all matters to do with procreation & birth …

One of the disciples, Peter, was jealous that Mary had the ear & favour of Jesus & tried to repudiate her wisdom & teachings. Under the grace of Jesus, Mary Magdalene’s light shone very bright & she became a conscious warrior spirit for both men & women.

Although Mary Magdalene was very wealthy when she met Jesus & had assisted he & the apostles financially she died in poverty spending her latter years living in a cave near Provence in the South of France.

Mary Magdalene’s message to us is in the acceptance of who we are … reclaiming our innate & true nature, reconnecting to our own divine light … to remember & live as the truth of who we are!!!
