Medusa …

Medusa was a beautiful virginal Greek priestess cursed for breaking her vow of celibacy after having an affair with the sea god Poseidon. She was duly punished by Queen Athena who turned Medusa into a hideous old hag, turning her skin green & her hair into a nest of writhing snakes. Outcaste & abandoned, Medusa became one of the three winged ogress beasts named the Gorgo or Gorgons.
In the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, there is a painting by Caravaggio of Medusa, her nostrils flaring, wild-haired, eyes pierced in rage. But, contrary to myth, Medusa didn’t seduce Poseidon, her Virginal innocence had been shattered as the victim of violent rape. The fated union creating two offspring, one of which was the glorious & legendary winged horse, Pegasus.
Legend states that anyone who gazed into the eyes of the tormented soul of Medusa would be turned to stone!!!
The myth of Medusa corresponds perfectly with the Scorpio archetype embodying the traits of sex, death, abuse of power, control, possession & the enduring battle of darkness versus light! As we live on a plane of existence immersed in duality … darkness & light, life & death, the seen & unseen, known & unknown, conscious & unconscious are constantly entwined. Our greatest personal power comes when we raise our perspective above the duality to observe from a place of unity, holistically, in Oneness. This Eagle’s perspective as witness, with detachment in conscious awareness, ultimately brings truth, freedom & liberation.
Monday’s full moon lunar eclipse in Scorpio places planet earth directly between the luminaries of sun & moon 🌕🌏🌑 activating the Taurean shadow axis gifting a gateway for profound physical change & transformation.
Fortunately & simultaneously, Venus conjoins with wounded healer, Chiron, ensuring the changes that occur are divinely inspired with love aiding the highest possible outcomes for our Soul’s forward path … 🙏🏼☀️
