Baba Vanga was a Bulgarian psychic, mystic & herbalist. She was born on the 31st January 1911 & christened Vangeliya Pandeva Gushterova. Baba Vanga was an intelligent child who enjoyed playing make-believe games about “healing” with her friends.

The story goes that Baba Vanga became blind around the age of twelve after experiencing a random accident of nature. A tornado hit her rural village, lifting her into the air & depositing her in a nearby field where she was found, shocked & frightened & unable to open her eyes. They had been sealed shut with sand & dirt. Baba Vanga’s family were poor & there was only enough money for basic medical treatment. Over time she gradually lost her sight simultaneously improving her paranormal prowess as a seer, healer & visionary.

In 1925 she was sent to a school for the blind in Zemun, Belgrade where she learnt to read Braille, play piano & perform other basic domestic duties. When her stepmother died, Baba Vanga returned to her village to look after her siblings. Her notoriety as a psychic grew when word spread that she may be able to locate the whereabouts of relatives lost or missing in war. In May 1942 she married a Bulgarian soldier who came to her for such service. In 1966, due to an ever increasing popularity, the Bulgarian government employed her to see patients for readings while her psychic abilities were being scientifically monitored & studied. Rumour told that Baba Vanga was also employed & under surveillance by the KGB to source private information from visiting politicians & dignatories.

Considered the female equivalent of Nostradamus, Baba Vanga gave a number of predictions, some of which have already come true, including; the collapse of the twin towers in September ‘11, the death of Diana, Princess of Wales & the 2004 Tsunami in the Indian Ocean. It appears there is still some controversy in response to her prophecies due to a lack of original written material.

Baba Vanga prophetised that in the 21st century, alternate sources of power would be found, there would be a cure for cancer & new archeological discoveries would reveal more about the origin of our earthly civilisation. She predicted that the consciousness of people will change, greater life in the cosmos would be discovered, humanity would be in contact with aliens & people will get in touch with their brothers & sisters from other worlds.
