Labyrinth
The Labyrinth is an ancient meditation tool. Predominantly used in the 13th century throughout Europe & the UK, the distinctive symbol has been found in evidence on Cretan coins as far back as 340bc … The reason for walking the labyrinth is to access the truth of the inner self. Walking the labyrinth is a ‘right brain’ activity said to quiet the mind, instill peace & release anxiety. Consider this a journey inwards to explore the inner realms seeking greater wisdom & understanding.
The walker selects a theme, issue or relationship on which greater clarity is sought then follows the maze like path into the centre of the labyrinth. Here you must stop for contemplation & illumination before returning back to the world complete with guidance & understanding.
This labyrinth is conveniently located in Centennial Park in Sydney. There are two labyrinths at the Crystal Castle, Montecollum in the hinterland behind Byron Bay & I understand transformational healer Karen Quant has created a private labyrinth in her retreat at Bucca Wauka on the mid nsw coast.

note: the difference between a labyrinth & a maze is …
it has only one path in & out & no dead ends!
