Acupuncture – magic oriental healing
Acupuncture
The human body contains 1000’s of ‘meridians’, pathways or invisible energy lines that allow ‘chi’ or energy flow to connect & interconnect the various major & minor organs, muscles, ligaments, blood & bones. Disruptions to the natural flow of this energy cause blockages & build-up that create “dis” – “ease”. Very simply, Acupuncture is the placement of needles at different locations along these meridian lines to remove restrictions to ‘chi’, the flow of energy.

On the under side of your wrist are the meeting point for all meridians. It is here that the acupuncturist “feels” for the nature of the energy flow or the “chi” circulating to the various organs. The pulses are felt at differing layers, with “yin” organs being deeper points than “yang” organs which have superficial or surface pulses.
The other point of reference for the Acupuncturist is tongue diagnosis. From the landscape, texture & tone of the tongue, the practitioner can read any excess or insufficiency. For example, the scalloped edge of the tongue is read as a spleen deficiency, a red tip represents excess heart energy, a thick white coating a stomach yang excess!!!
From diagnosis, the Acupuncturist then proceeds to place needles at the meridian points necessary to harmonize the flow of chi & regulate the pulses. It’s not necessary for you to tell your Acupuncture practitioner anything … your body says it all!!! They will however ask you questions, perhaps concerning times of the day, your emotions, your temperature & climate or other health habits.
So, next time you feel a bit out of sorts or emotionally unstable, check into your local Acupuncturist for a tune-up. It could save your mind, your body & your relationships!!!!
