A ‘Blue Moon’ is the term referring to a second full moon in a calendar month or the 4th full moon in a season. This occurs approximately every 2-3 years, thus the term “once in a blue moon”. The moon is not physically blue & is known by term only. In middle English the word blue came from ‘belewe’ which meant ‘to betray’ not only others but self in actions, word or deed.
