Kuan Yin – Goddess of Compassion
Kuan Yin
Universal love, compassion, mercy, enlightenment & liberation for all beings.
Kuan Yin is a Chinese moon-faced goddess revered & worshipped in Asia & the East as the Goddess of Compassion for all things. She is unconditional love personified, the Eastern version of Mother Mary, believed to show loving intention for all beings.
Kuan Yin is also noted for her role as Goddess of sound. Devoted to Buddhist principles, she is the reason for the Great Compassion Mantra, a simplification for our purpose is “Om Mani Padme Hum” – translated, the jewel is in the eye of the lotus (the riches are inside you!). Kuan Yin will hear your prayers & shower you with blessings & compassion, the warm embrace of the Universal mother. Talk to her & confide in her if you are confused or worried. She hears all.
Kuan Yin is also associated with being vegetarian, her image often used to decorate vegetarian cafes & restaurants, true indication of mercy for all humans, animals & life.
Kuan Yin is considered an immortal sentient being, a Goddess of light who will oversee family harmony to ensure peace, relieve the sick & protect us from the demons of the underworld & consequent suffering. Her role in both life & death is to facilitate & unite “worldly enjoyment and liberation”.
