Astrology – A brief history
The use of Astrology can be dated as far as 3000bc where the Chaldeans (considered by the Greeks & Romans as Babylonians) practiced the science. The Chinese date the use of Astrology to 2000bc in alignment with Mayan civilizations, as noted by the records of populations such as the Incas. Research centers were built high in the Andes, as close to the stars as possible, to record the cycles of time. It was here that the changing patterns of the stars were watched to follow the seasons for the regulation of crops, harvests & planting. Further north, one of the earliest observatories built to map the stars was El Caracol in Chitchen Itza, Mexico.
Confucius said …
“Heaven sends down its good or evil symbols and wise men act accordingly”
Early European medical scholars were trained in Astrology to assess the physical bodies responses to planetary movements. Prior to the 17th century, astrology was incorporated in both science & medicine. It is believed the first Ephemeris (table of calculation of planetary movements) was initiated in Babylon, Mesopotamia in the 4th century, congruent with man’s developing mathematical skills.
Recently, with the transit of Uranus through Aquarius & Pisces into personal Aries, Astrology has certainly shown a re-surgence of popular belief.
